The End of the War

Posted on December 25, 2007

…on Christmas, of course! Here’s my exit strategy for this annually divisive war – let’s keep our holiday wishes to ourselves until the actual day or days of the event. That means you only wish people “Merry Christmas” on the day of, maybe also the day before Christmas itself. Same with Hannukah, Kwanza, the winter solstice, etc. etc. Now, I know what you’re thinking – what if the holidays overlap? For that, I suggest simply that you wish all that apply. If its both Hannukah and Christmas, just say “Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah.” Its so simple it just might work!

And on that note, Patrick and I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Thoughts on 60 Minutes

Posted on December 16, 2007

This story about the US Military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy on 60 minutes this Sunday has reignited my utmost contempt for our great nation’s ignorant, backwards policy. Check out this list of countries that currently ban honest homosexuals from serving in the military:

  • Brazil
  • China
  • Cuba
  • Egypt
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Philippines
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Syria
  • The United States of America
  • Venezuela
  • Yemen

I guess even though Iran doesn’t have any homosexuals citizens, they still need a policy in place. Better to be prepared, I say. Great company, though, right? I literally feel sick right now.

Golden Compass review coming soon, I promise!!
