Patrick and His Quilt at MOMA
Posted on March 3, 2007As previously mentioned, we went today to see the Gee’s Bend exhibit at the Orlando Metropolitan Museum of Art. Patrick’s quilt is displayed all this month in a side exhibit for local quilters. Be sure to check it out!

I’m so glad to hear of men quilting no matter their sexual orientation. I have a daughter who has come out but lives far away from my home in Ontario, Canada. I hope you can share with me whether there is a market for quilts that express themes that may be specific to gay or lesbian people. For example I have a great fabric that shows only men enjoying ski slopes in costumes of past and present. I would expand this with more pine trees and pine cones with star blocks that have large centres to show off the story of quilt. I am a very good artistic quilter who is old enough that I can support individuality of choice. I’m so glad that one of you exhibited in 2007, while regretting that I didn’t see the quilt.
